Best time to go

A weekday morning slot (Tuesday, Thursday or Friday at 10:00) is the calmest. Wednesday opens an hour later.

Weekends are the busiest, with Mexico City families and visitors, and sell out first.

Thursday evenings offer a different, quieter atmosphere during Noche Azul.

60 to 90 minutes is enough for the house and garden. Add time for the shop, the café and Coyoacán's centre.
What should I leave at my hotel?
Large backpacks and bags (over 35 cm), suitcases, food, drinks and selfie sticks. Smaller items can go in the free cloakroom.
Can I wear a hat?
The museum asks visitors to enter without hats, caps or sunglasses.
Is there a café?
Yes, there's a café in the garden of the Casa Azul, and many more in Coyoacán's centre, ten minutes' walk away.
Is the museum good for children?
Children under 6 enter free and ages 6 to 12 pay MX$30. Strollers must be left in the cloakroom, so a baby carrier is easier.
